Pomona & District Community House is excited to have their weekly meal shares for young people back.
‘The Social’ is an opportunity for young people to prepare and share a meal together, and to hang out.
‘The Social’ is held in the Lawson Shed on Wednesdays from 3pm-6pm. The program is a monthly rotation for specific youth audiences:
1st Wednesday of Month: Young Men 12-17 years
2nd Wednesday of Month: Young Women 12 – 17 years
3rd Wednesday of Month: Beyond Binary 12-25 years
4th Wednesday of Month: Everyone 18-25 years
The dinners will include cultural themes to broaden palates and cultural understanding at the same time as providing a safe, inclusive space to:
• Acquire and practice transferable life skills
• Learn about affordable food security
• Have conversations led by young people
• Socialise in a peer group facilitated by a professional youth worker
‘The Social’ is free to attend however participants require parent/caregiver consent. Permission forms can be collected from Pomona & District Community House or downloaded PCH-YP-2024TheSocial-Parental Consent.
