PCH Community Science Club

Community input into latest research

A collaboration with UniSC Healthy Ageing Research Cluster and Gateway Development Team UniSC.

Reviewing Dr Fraser Russell’s research paper: Anti scarring molecule found in stingless bee nectar.

The PCH Community Science Club connects curious minds with latest research and asks their input. The group learns what ‘peer-review’ means in science and have the opportunity to provide input on a paper that has been translated from ‘science speak’. The researchers want to know if the translation makes sense and if the community sees value in the research.

Dr Kathryn Broadhouse, Science Communicator and Susan Schiotz, PCH will facilitate the group. Reviewed articles, having taken on feedback, will then be published in an online community newsletter by the Gateway Development Team, UniSC. Appropriate for ages 12 years and over.

We’d love to have a range of ages represented.

Please ensure you book in.  You will receive a copy of the paper for review a week prior to the group meeting.  Hardcopies will be available for collection from Community House.
