Local fibre artisan Val is taking it back to the basics (you may of seen her delights displayed on the PCH stall at King of the Mountain). Children will learn how to make pom poms the old style way, and start their own French knitted caterpillars ready to decorate their herb basket gardens.
Then Tracie Sheehan, PCH Community Gardener, will take children on a journey into the world of herbs in the community garden. They’ll get to make their own herb basket garden to take home and keep growing. As well as learn about some of the ways they can cook with the herbs they pick.
Pomona & District Community House’s (PCH) Spring Holiday Program is open to children Prep to Grade 6 ages. The program aims to provide accessible low cast vacation care in the Noosa Hinterland. Bookings are essential. PCH has free wifi and computers if you need access to book. We are happy to help you.
The program is subsidised by PCH thanks to funding by the Department of Treaty, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Partnerships, Communities and the Arts.
Sessions are capped at 12 children. All staff hold blue cards and the sessions are run by the artist facilitator and supporting educator. Children are to bring their own morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, water and hat. All materials are provided.
